From a slit in the wall I can feel the rose colored sky
I nod ready to speak before remaining in silence
I take a peek and see peachy veins stretch themselves across the open air
The year is new
I pull away from a darkening violet view
And scratch another tally
On a worn and weakened wall
its gone so cold again.
Shy breaths under moonlit waves
The blood from your hands pours into mine
Colored scabs and blisters find their way into our mouths
When I sleep I’ll see you turn from me toward the sea
When you dream I pray you see my beacon shine on cracking waves
On the foaming rocks I’ve left my eyes for you to keep
My lips for you to tie your heart strings with
I’ve kept your lashes, your hair in my lungs
It’s only fitting that you cherish the living parts of me as well
In golden beams of afternoon sun
Your name will bury itself with the taste of your tongue
