OH, ITS THE END I CAN HEAR THE SCREAMS RIPPED FROM THE DEAD OUR SKIN ON THEIR TEETH AS THEY CHEW ON OUR BONES I HEAR THE SCREAMS PLEA TO A LORD WHO’S GRACE IS UNKNOWN
2.
LEAD TEARS 01:24
IM SO OVERWHELMED BY THE EMOTIONS INSIDE BUT I CANT SPILL BETRAY THOSE WOUNDS THAT I HIDE STEEL MY FACE IM MADE OF STONE END MY SUFFERING WHEN MY HEART’S GONE COLD ITS GONE COLD THE WEAKNESS OF FLESH I CANNOT OWN GUILDING MY HEART HIDES THE CORROSION I CANT SHOW I CANT SHOW
3.
THE ROT 02:46
NO THE WEIGHTS ON MY SOUL MY IGNORANCE OF HEALTH HAS STOLE THE EMBERS OF LOVE I ONCE OWNED NOW IM LEFT WITHOUT MYSELF, ALONE
4.
From a slit in the wall I can feel the rose colored sky I nod ready to speak before remaining in silence I take a peek and see peachy veins stretch themselves across the open air The year is new I pull away from a darkening violet view And scratch another tally On a worn and weakened wall its gone so cold again. Shy breaths under moonlit waves The blood from your hands pours into mine Colored scabs and blisters find their way into our mouths When I sleep I’ll see you turn from me toward the sea When you dream I pray you see my beacon shine on cracking waves On the foaming rocks I’ve left my eyes for you to keep My lips for you to tie your heart strings with I’ve kept your lashes, your hair in my lungs It’s only fitting that you cherish the living parts of me as well In golden beams of afternoon sun Your name will bury itself with the taste of your tongue And in that instant A rush But nothing ever enough To make me judge how you may have felt I know I won’t ever understand or see So I choose to just let things and you be Goodbye my one time month Under the moon and under sun The days passed over us And I’m glad to have stood in their glare Im so thrilled a part of time With you I got to share.

about

Soldier's Side has always been a group to focus their harsh noise and echoing vocals on that which is introspective; Usually in reaction to the despair that exists in everyday life. In TRAPPED IN COILS the tragedy has shifted from the horrors of Wilfred Owen's WWII to the cages that the patriarchy has placed upon men. In addition to the horrid systems the patriarchy places upon all women, the very same social authorities also force men to be inhuman, and untouchable. Unfeeling machines set to self destruct.
Lyrics in tracks like LEAD TEARS paint a picture of a man who has been cast in lead, unable to move and unable to cry lest his chiseled figure begin to crack and shatter, leaving him naked and vulnerable.

The iconography of Laocoön is not accidental either as the statue has been mistakenly used for patriarchal propaganda with critics arguing that his "stoic face" should be a blueprint for how men should handle pain with silence.
